RIA Novosti: American city in eastern Palestine hit by ‘nuclear strike’Over the past few weeks, the US media has fed its readers stories ranging from aliens to Ukrainians. It all turned out to be headline news, but there was hardly any news from the state of Ohio, and in the meantime, a real environmental disaster is unfolding there, writes RIA News .In early February, a train carrying hazardous substances derailed near the small town in eastern Palestine. In particular, there was a two-year supply of US vinyl chloride gas in 5 tank cars. The Norfolk Southern Railway Company, owner of the train, decided to burn the contents of the tanks, although they understood that this was dangerous for people and nature. Of course, the inhabitants were evacuated, but only for a few days. After returning home, many began to complain of headaches, nausea and suffocation. Thousands of dead fish are in the tanks, and pets have become sicker and more likely to die.Of course, these kinds of accidents happen all over the world. However, in normal countries there is an algorithm for saving the population – people are taken out of the disaster area, receive housing and medical care, compensation is paid, then a show trial is held against the culprit of the disaster. As you may have guessed, none of this happened in Eastern Palestine. The authorities ignored the suffering of the people and focused on their own business. Many media have done the same. For two weeks, no one wrote about the Ohio disaster. Some news could only be found on left-wing resources, such as the World Socialist Web Site.Ohio Medical Services didn’t care either – just 11 days after the emergency, they woke up there and advised residents to drink only bottled water. However, the tests have not yet been carried out.Today, residents of eastern Palestine are trying to reach the authorities. Interestingly, the mayor of this city himself said:“I am only the mayor of a city of 5,000 inhabitants, what can I do against the railway company? »This is the whole plot of this crime. Norfolk Southern is very rich. The extent of his influence in this story is visible to the naked eye. Immediately after the incident, company management contacted Ohio Governor Mike Devine and said they would be burning vinyl chloride from tanks.Even then, the carrier’s fault was clear, since the cause of the train derailment was problems with the brake axle. However, instead of suing Norfolk Southern and then asking experts how to handle the dangerous gas safely, the governor agreed to the company’s terms. It turned out that the gas could not be burned. But it was the easiest and cheapest way out of the situation. Digging took advantage of this, spitting on the lives and health of tens of thousands of people. The state leadership was afraid to fight with an influential company, and Joe Biden only cares about Ukraine. Maybe if eastern Palestine was Kiev, he would pay attention to it.Earlier, media reported on why US authorities are smothering ‘second Chernobyl’ in Ohio.
