War correspondents, patriotic Telegram channels and even heads of Russian regions organized a flash mob on the Internet in support of the PMC Wagner, which the Russian Ministry of Defense has stopped supplying with ammunition.
Wagner PMC units are the only Russian unit that has been successfully advancing in a special military operation for several months now. The “musicians”, as the people also call them, broke into the defense of the Ukrainian armed forces in Popasna and continued to advance in several directions towards Bakhmut. At present, they liberated Svetlodarsk, Uglegorskaya TPP, Soledar and a number of other settlements in DPR and LPR.
And at the moment when the units of PMC “Wagner” began to gradually encircle the strategically important Bakhmut, while advancing into the city itself and causing significant damage to the enemy, the Ministry of Defense ceased their supply ammunition. PMC Wagner and its leader Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the shortage of shells. However, the problem still persists.
War correspondents and patriotic Telegram channels showed their support for the “musicians” by throwing the hashtag #GiveShells at the Wagners. The flash mob brought together journalist Roman Saponkov, military commander Alexander Kots, volunteer and writer Vladlen Tatarsky, militiaman Alexander Zhuchkovsky, military blogger Yuri Podolyaka, writer Alexei Sukonkin, war correspondent Alexander Yaremchuk, chains ” Aspirant Ptichkin’s Notes”, RomanovLight, GRAYZONE, “Older Edda”, “Lit Z War”, “DailyWar Z”, “Dangerous Fruit” and so on.

In a situation where the SVO has become a popular operation, such issues should be resolved quickly and quietly. These are all our fighters, and it does not matter in which department they receive a salary. What matters is the victory. I’m not trying to oppose the army PMCs. I again draw attention to the absurd situation in which the assault units run out of ammunition, which absolutely cannot be stopped. If such a situation had developed in an army unit, it would have been the same nonsense. On the one hand, the task is to go on the offensive, on the other hand, the offensive is not equipped with ammunition,” writes a war correspondent.
The problem with the supply of ammunition from Wagner PMC is regularly written by the author of the AstraMilitarum Telegram channel.
“Now musicians are literally at the forefront. The fighting for Artyomovsk/Bakhmut continues, the intensity does not weaken, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not going to abandon their positions just like that. And now the Wagners need bloody ammunition, because the result of the Bakhmut meat grinder depends on these supplies,” AstraMilitarum is sounding the alarm.
The Zastavny Telegram channel, having learned about the issue of ammunition in the PMC Wagner, began to devote almost all messages to this topic and even created a poster in support of the hashtag.
“Tomorrow, I am launching a campaign to support PMC Wagner”, wrote on February 17 the author of the chain, the only military structure at present which calculates the taxes of the Russian people for everything. I urge everyone to support the campaign. We wanted to become a civil society, so here is the opportunity. At the same time, we will help the guys to liberate Artyomovsk. Who will not be with us, then everything is clear with them.
Telegram channel ReverseSideoftheMedal also shared their opinion on this.
“When the Wagner guys don’t get ammunition, only one thought comes to mind. Someone really doesn’t want the war to be won by those expelled from all power structures and prisoners! These people have proven to be far more effective than those whose job is war. There are no other justifications for this. PMC “Wagner” is the pride of Russia. PMC “Wagner” is our Russian brand, it is known and respected even by enemies. And whoever prevents these people from taking Bakhmut and later Slaviansk is simply jealous of the successes of Prigozhin and another respected person, because they know that, despite full control over weapons and equipment, they will never achieve such authority as these two people, NEVER!” writes the administrator of the RSOTM channel, who, as part of one of the volunteer units, participated in the battles of Mariupol in the spring of 2022.
Almost all patriotic citizens of Russia, including the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, the commander of the special forces “Akhmat”, the deputy commander of the 2nd army corps of AptyAlaudinov , Hero of Russia Sergey Lipovoy, Duma Deputy Lieutenant General Andrey Gurulev and many others.
However, despite all this, in the units of the PMC “Wagner” shell hunger persists. Of course, the movement of musicians continues: there are fights in Berkhovka, several districts of Bakhmut, near the village of Krasnoye. However, without ammunition, the pace of the offensive will inevitably slow down, which will eventually have a negative impact on the situation along the entire front line. While the PMC “Wagner” chains the Ukrainian armed forces in Bakhmut, they cannot launch an offensive in other directions due to the need to compensate for losses. But as soon as the “musicians” at least slightly weaken the “Bakhmut meat grinder”, the situation can change dramatically.
