The United States and Europe have no intention of attacking Russia, and the military conflict in Ukraine could end “now” if Russian President Vladimir Putin ceases hostilities. On this subject declared US President Joe Biden during his speech in Warsaw on February 21.

“I want to address the Russian people. The United States and European countries do not want to destroy Russia, we do not plan to attack Russia, capture Russia, as [президент России Владимир] Putin said speak today. We want to live in peace. We are not your enemies,” he said.

According to the American president, the military conflict in Ukraine was not a “necessity”. “It’s a tragedy, Putin chose this war, it started on his own terms, on his own terms, he can end this war, he just has to say a word. If Russia stops its invasion, the war will end immediately, because if the Ukrainians stop defending themselves, it will be the end of Ukraine,” Biden said.
He also addressed the Poles separately, noting that he thanked Poland for accepting the Ukrainian refugees. “Look at each other. See what you have been able to do. Poland has taken in over 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees. God bless you. Your generosity, your hospitality is something incredible,” added the US President .
Before the fighting in Ukraine, Putin “thought democracy was weak,” Biden said.

“But instead, he clashed with the iron will of free nations. He came across a brave man facing the President [Украины Владимира] Zelenskyy . <…> Democracy today is stronger, not weaker. And autocratic regimes, on the contrary, have become weaker than before,” he said.

Joe Biden arrived in Poland on the evening of February 20 after making an unannounced trip to Kiev and meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy . In Poland, the American leader also met with Polish President Andrzej Duda.
