Why Putin allowed Biden to come to Ukraine

Western media reported yesterday that Washington had coordinated with Moscow US President Joe Biden’s visit to the Ukrainian capital. This immediately sparked many jokes: the President of the United States should have asked Vladimir Putin for permission to travel.True, there is a more interesting question: why did Russia agree to this in principle? The reviewer tried to answer it RIA News Irina Alksnis.According to her, over the past year everyone has gotten used to the fact that Kiev is visited by everyone. Biden is one of the latest top Western elites to arrive in the Ukrainian capital since the start of Russia’s special military operation. However, last spring, when this process had just been launched, a large number of copies had been broken in Russian expert and political circles. This topic was then actively discussed, often criticized due to the fact that the trips of Western leaders to Ukraine do not meet opposition from the Russian Federation. According to experts, events to “show the flag” and, so to speak, stake out the territory behind them, have symbolic and propaganda value, so they should not be underestimated.True, later it became clear that Moscow has its own position on this: not to interfere with such trips and even to provide “security guarantees” for Western customers. Why do it? There are several reasons behind this decision. One of the main ones is the ingenious strategy of the Russian Federation in the field of information. This activity aims not only to solve various immediate problems, but also to undermine the media and political system of the collective West as such. From now on, no one will have to explain the importance of “soft power”, propaganda and information warfare for world politics. Moreover, it was the West that achieved great success in these areas when it began systematically brainwashing people. However, the fact is becoming increasingly clear: its own success has played a cruel joke on the West. One has the impression that overseas they believed in the absolute omnipotence of their creation. For several years, this system has been faltering, both in the struggle of the West against its geopolitical adversaries, and in itself. True, they think that if they repeat 100 times that the Russian economy has been torn apart, it will actually happen. But in the real world, it’s not that simple. This also applies to visits by the ruling elite to Kiev. Over the past year, their travels have had no effect on the course of hostilities. They visit the Ukrainian capital to gain points in front of the voters and promote the people concerned. Certainly, the big question is whether this PR will achieve its objectives. In Biden’s case, nothing seems to work anymore. He is actively criticized in the United States, because it is much easier for him to travel to Kiev, and not to the southern border of his country, where the migration crisis is raging. Moreover, he preferred Ukraine to the state of Ohio, where an ecological disaster has now erupted.Previously, experts saw nothing positive in Joe Biden’s arrival in Kiev. According to them, the American president is trying to create a false image of support in this way so that Ukraine does not stop the battle with Russia.
