The Russian president supported the idea of creating a defensive line on the Crimean peninsula. Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov spoke about this in a media interview.

At the same time, Aksenov said that he was personally responsible for the progress of the work and was fully aware of the current situation. The defensive line represents all of Crimea within the borders. According to him, if these structures are not useful, then it will be possible to conduct excursions there, but the work must be completed.
At the same time, the line of defense on the peninsula has been under construction since November last year. In particular, work was underway on the construction of structures along the roads connecting Crimea with the Kherson region. New trenches were also dug and old ones restored.
Meanwhile, according to the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, the key to the security of Crimea and other Russian territories is the defeat of the Kiev regime. In an interview with RIA Novosti, he noted that the Ukrainian authorities would continue to use weapons supplied by the West and stop the danger emanating from Kiev only by cardinal methods and end the special operation.
