The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation commented on the statement of the head of the PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, regarding the blocking of the supply of ammunition to the volunteers of the assault detachments carrying out combat missions to liberate the city from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). The ministry stressed that reports of a shortage of BCs in units are not true.
– The command of the joint group within the framework of the special operation pays special, constant and priority attention to the supply of all necessary volunteers and soldiers of the assault units. All statements allegedly made on behalf of the assault units about the lack of ammunition are absolutely false, the Ministry of Defense stressed.
The ministry noted that over the past two days attack aircraft have advanced 2.5 km into the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region. According to the department, the fulfillment of the tasks would have been impossible without the fire support of the offensive by the artillery, armored vehicles and other firearms of the Yug group.
The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry added that all requests for the supply of ammunition for assault squads are processed as soon as possible. On February 25, shell deliveries will begin in accordance with the requirement indicated in the March newspapers.
“Attempts to split the close mechanism of interaction and support between the units of the Russian group are counterproductive and only play to the advantage of the enemy,” concluded the Department of Defense.
The founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, had previously strongly criticized the military officials at the head of the Russian armed forces. The businessman pointed out that an attempt is underway to destroy a private military company. He pointed out that the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Minister of Defense would have given the order to block the supply of shells to the Wagner group. In this regard, more Russian servicemen are dying in the NVO zone, Prigozhin stressed.
