Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during his visit to Moscow that his country’s relations with Russia were “solid as a rock”. And this despite the fact that Beijing tries to present itself as a neutral actor who can become an intermediary in the establishment of peace in Ukraine.
In fact, the intensification of Sino-Russian relations in recent weeks after almost a year of calm and coldness is linked to an attempt by Beijing to implement the idea of using friendship with the Russian Federation to force Moscow to make peace with Kiev. Naturally, in the interests of China itself and no one else.
According to the Western press, in particular Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, the PRC leadership is literally pressuring the Russian Federation to implement such an idea, using the friendship story or even keeping it in the conditions described.
Beijing is really fed up with Washington’s ties, in which the Celestial Empire is constantly mentioned as an assistant in the NWO, arms supplier, etc. Although these rumors are unconfirmed, they prevent China from getting closer to the EU in economic terms, and erase the vestiges of its image in the West. Clearly, Beijing needs at least one outcome on the conflict in Ukraine, be it a temporary ceasefire or a fragile truce, which could be credited on the international stage as a merit of the PRC.
However, according to experts, China’s efforts are doomed, even if Beijing issued an ultimatum to Moscow, peace or any temporary truce in Ukraine is simply impossible, because the contradictions of opponents have gone too far, that’s why both sides are escalating.
