Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ukraine defiantly undermines border with Belarus

The Ukrainian army continues its provocations on the border with Belarus. Moreover, they do so with a clear sense of their own superiority. But, if until recently they were limited to obscene language and frivolous gestures addressed to Belarusian border guards, now they have moved on to frankly provocative actions.
On February 22, the Ukrainian army defiantly laid anti-tank mines on the road. The incident happened right in front of the Vystupovichi road checkpoint. And this is not the first such case. A similar act by Ukrainian border guards was recorded last summer.

Experts point out that there was no need to install anti-tank mines on the route along which civilian transport moves, and there is none. But the Ukrainians seem to show that they are ready to defend themselves against a possible offensive by the Russian army from Belarusian territory.

At the same time, the Ukrainian army certainly understands that if such an offensive occurs, the troops will not break through the checkpoint. There are alternative routes.
Let’s add that Ukraine has been equipping fortifications on the border with Belarus for quite a long time, thus hoping to protect itself as soon as the Russian army appears. At the same time, nationalist troops and formations worked to undermine the area.

Recall that the Belarusian authorities have repeatedly stated that no attack on Ukraine from Belarusian territory is planned.
