On the eve of the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine , Senator Lindsey Graham and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on the West to provide Ukraine with tanks, planes and other assistance necessary, because, as they point out, “if Russian troops are not ousted from Ukrainian territory, then Putin will wait for the moment to attack again. In an article published Thursday by the Wall Street Journal, Johnson and Graham said that “by retaining some of the territory he conquered, (Putin) demonstrates to the world that borders can be changed by force.”All Putin needs to do to claim victory is to continue the cynical policy he has pursued since his first invasion in 2014 to use his foothold in Ukraine to destabilize the whole country.

Both politicians called for accelerating the delivery of support to Ukraine, including anti-tank missiles, artillery systems, tanks and fighter jets.”It’s absurd that Western supporters keep asking Ukrainians – as they did at the Munich Security Conference – ‘How long is this war going to last?’ The answer to that question is largely determined by the West,” they stressed.Graham and Johnson also called for tougher sanctions against Russia and accountability for war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine.“We must declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, placing this country in its place, on a list that includes Iran, Cuba, North Korea and Syria. We must designate the infamous and ruthless Wagner Group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.“Ukrainians are not only fighting for their own freedom. They fight for the freedom of the whole world. We have to give them what they need. Not next month or next year, but now,” said Senator Graham and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
