US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the war in Ukraine had ruined Russia’s international reputation and assured Ukraine of unwavering US support.
“This war has destroyed Russia’s international reputation, weakened and isolated it and undermined its economy,” Blinken said in a statement marking the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The announcement came after the United States on Friday announced a new security assistance program for Ukraine to help it counter Russian aggression.
The White House said the package will include several new drones, anti-drone equipment to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses and protect the public, and equipment to detect electronic warfare.
The package also includes a large amount of ammunition for 155 millimeter artillery mounts and battlefield-proven HIMARS systems, mine clearance equipment and secure communications, the White House said.
