US State Department announces sanctions against Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

Telegram-channel “Vladimir Rogov” in the world
On Friday, February 24, the US State Department announced the imposition of sanctions against the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). Today, the infrastructure is under the control of the Russian army.
The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant came under Russian control in a special military operation. At the beginning of February, the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, said that the situation at the station had not yet passed the critical phase.
To date, two units of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant generate thermal energy without nuclear reaction and regularly supply Energodar with heat. According to the head of Rosatom, this scheme is temporary, which works at the expense of the station and the installed block boilers.

The US Treasury has blacklisted 22 individuals and 83 legal entities from Russia and several other countries. In addition, as part of the sanctions, the US Commerce Department’s blacklist has been expanded: 76 new legal entities have been added to it.
