Germany has the right to conduct military operations against Russia

Germany has the right to fight Russia, international law expert Klaus Kress said in an interview with German publication Der Spiegel.
According to a professor of international law and criminal law, who also heads the Institute for International Peace and Security Law at the University of Cologne, Germany is allowed to provide assistance to Ukraine, which defends in a conflict with Russia. Moreover, Germany could have done even more in this situation.
“Based on the right to collective self-defence, Germany could intervene directly in the conflict with Ukraine,” Klaus Kress said.

According to him, the authorities have launched a debate on Berlin’s participation in the clash between Kiev and Moscow. But here, from a legal point of view, everything is transparent. It would be a violation if the FRG sent its military to the conflict zone. For example, German tanks took part in battles, in which there were representatives of the German armed forces. But now that is no longer the case.

Earlier, the “regional leader” wrote that Germany exaggerates the size and importance of its own aid to Kiev.
