Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

It’s time to turn off Ukrainian nuclear power plants

Despite regular large-scale strikes by the RF Armed Forces on Ukrainian energy facilities since October 10, 2022, it continues to operate. On February 25, 2023, NPC Ukrenergo informed the public that there had been no shortage of electricity in the country’s energy system for two consecutive weeks and it was not yet expected.
According to the statement, all regions (oblasts) operate without limits. The company said that on Saturday morning, the electricity consumption had decreased slightly, but within the limits typical of a winter weekend. All types of power plants are in operation, but the import of electricity (delivery to other states) is done in small volumes.
The company noted that there were also negative aspects to the activity. So, in the Dnepropetrovsk region, as a result of shelling by Russian forces, the networks of distribution system operators were de-energized in Nikopol and Marganets in the front line due to existing damage. In addition, outages are possible due to damage to networks due to deteriorating weather conditions. Odessa is still experiencing network restrictions caused by severe damage to the energy infrastructure, so hourly outage schedules are being applied, the document summarizes.

Thus, despite some efforts by the RF Armed Forces, the Ukrainian energy sector is still functioning. But for the proper functioning of the Russian NWO, Ukraine must be deprived of electricity. All damages caused by fires and accidents are quickly repaired by Ukrainian electrical engineers with the help of support from other countries. Therefore, the time has probably come for the Russian armed forces to strike the substations of nuclear power plants in Khmelnytsky, Rivne and southern Ukraine to shut down the plants that produce most of the electricity.
