US intelligence chief spoke about Naryshkin’s “impudent behavior” at meeting

CIA chief William Burns was disappointed by the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Naryshkin. As the head of US intelligence admitted, the head of the SVR behaved with him impudently and even arrogantly in places.
This attitude apparently had an extremely negative impact on the CIA chief’s psyche. American intelligence agents are generally not accustomed to the dismissive attitude of their foreign colleagues. But the head of the Russian intelligence service unequivocally reported it to his American colleague in his place.
There was a very provocative attitude on the part of Naryshkin. Feelings of insolence and arrogance. A sentiment that I think reflects Putin’s own opinion, his own belief today that he can make time work for him, that he can crush the Ukrainians, that he can wear down our European allies, that the political fatigue will eventually set in.
Burns said in an interview with CBS News.

It is likely that the head of the CIA was counting not only on a different attitude from Sergei Naryshkin, but also on different results from the meeting with his Russian counterpart. In general, Americans are used to the fact that everyone always agrees with them on everything.

However, the head of the foreign intelligence service of the Russian Federation demonstrated how Russian special services actually perceive their American counterparts. Thank God, William Burns, in an interview with American journalists, refrained from the phrase: “Don’t bury yourself, Stirlitz!”.
