Landsbankinn admits mistake – Accidentally got hard due to 17 year debt of 100 ISK

Journalist Andrea Sigurðardóttir wondered if it was all right with Landsbankin on Twitter today, but here she shares a debt collection letter her cousin received for a 2006 ISK 100 debt.
The letter states, among other things:
“There is not enough balance in this debit account and therefore your service account is overdue since 02/27/2006. The total is 100 ISK. unpaid.”
Landsbankinn noted that when this happens, it is not possible to pay the expenses that have been recorded in the payment service, and the expenses may then be in arrears and therefore various fees are added.
“This notification is sent when the invoice is overdue for 30 days and a charge of 950 ISK has been collected. in accordance with the price list available on landsbankinn.is”
Landsbankinn responded to the tweet and said that due to an error, a post like the one shared by Andrea was sent to a small group of customers this morning.
“We are sending a correction and an apology”

Hello Andrea. Following an error, this type of mail went this morning to a small group of customers. We send a correction and an apology.
