February 27, 2023, 04:57 – Public Information Service – TEH – The British Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with the Supacat-Babcock alliance, according to which 70 Jackal High Mobility Transporter vehicles (HMT 400 series) will be delivered to the army. As journalists managed to find out, the cars are expected to be delivered to the British army by March 2024. At the same time, the cost of this contract is being kept secret.
Media representatives also learned that the order could be increased to 240 light armored vehicles. It is specified that such a decision may be taken in the event that “if operational needs so require”.
Recall Jackal HMT 400 was first introduced in 2008 in Afghanistan. In total, about 600 such machines were created in 4×4, 6×6 configurations. These cars also exist in the form of a convertible “Extenda” and in a version that implies the presence of an additional set of mine and ballistic protection.
