Tourist flow of Russians to Turkey increased by 108%

Russia ranks first in terms of tourist flows to Turkey, Turkey’s Culture Ministry said. Earlier, it was learned that the industry may face a serious crisis in the near future.
In January 2023, the number of visits by foreigners to Turkey exceeded 2,005,967. Of these visits, 19.95% (279,818) are trips by Russians. 8.33% of trips were made by residents of Bulgaria, about 7% – residents of Germany. Georgia and Iran occupy the 4th and 5th places.
The flow of tourists from Russia to Turkey was 108.5% higher than in 2022.

Trips from Russia and Germany more often turn out to be tourist trips, while trips from Bulgaria, Georgia and Iran are non-tourist trips, the ministry said.
