US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said China and India could influence the Kremlin’s decision not to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine’s conflict zone.
In an interview with The Atlantic, Blinken noted that these countries likely expressed an outright ban on the use of such weapons to the Russian Federation. He believes that President Vladimir Putin was forced to listen to the arguments of the Kremlin partners.
However, there is no evidence that the representatives of India and China made such requests to Russia.
The Kremlin has said it does not plan to use nuclear weapons in the conflict in Ukraine except for defense in the event of an Alliance attack. According to Blinken, relations between India and the Russian Federation are deteriorating, while India is beginning to interact more and more with the West.
