February 28, 2023, 4:01 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights conducted a survey among Ukrainian refugees to find out their plans after the end of hostilities.
According to Politico, 14,685 people currently living in several European countries took part in the survey.
Thus, a third of refugees say they already feel part of the society in which they have recently found themselves. Half of the survey participants reported signs of depression, while 61% admitted to being optimistic after leaving Ukraine.
Only a third of respondents want to return to their country of origin, and the same number have found work after moving. 79% declared a difficult financial situation.
“We need to take effective long-term measures that will enable host societies and displaced people to adapt,” Agency Director Michael O’Flaherty said of the survey findings.
