The Ministry of Labor has proposed to increase the amount of social pension from April 1

Such an initiative has been taken by the Ministry of Labor of Russia, which submitted the corresponding draft for public discussion, the press service of the department reported.The Ministry noted that, traditionally, the increase in the amount of pensions is carried out once a year – on April 1. Last year, in a context of high inflation, it was decided to gradually index the payments in order to support the population. Then social pensions and the cost of living and the minimum wage increased by 10% from June 1.Since January 2023, the cost of living has risen another 3.3%. By analogy with her, from April 1 it is necessary to increase social pensions, explained Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection, State Secretary Andrey Pudov.
