US State Department: China sided with Russian Federation in Ukraine conflict

February 28, 2023, 01:37 – Public Information Service – TEH – US State Department press chief Ned Price said China is on Russia’s side in the Ukraine dispute.
During the briefing, Price expressed hope that Beijing would use its influence in Russian-Chinese relations in a constructive way. According to him, there are a number of countries whose influence would help end the conflict in Ukraine, and China is definitely one of them.
“But at least today, despite China’s objections, we clearly see that they have chosen a certain side,” Price said.
He pointed out that the PRC’s political, diplomatic and economic support for Russia suggests that in the Ukraine conflict, Beijing sided with Moscow even without providing military assistance.

Chinese Foreign Ministry official Wang Wenbin meanwhile said that it is the United States, not China, that is supplying arms to the contact line in the Ukraine conflict. He also accused the West of double standards in the issue of arms supplies from China to Russia.
As the Public News Service previously reported, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stressed that China would be making a “historic mistake” if it backed Russia.
