Brits won’t need to apply for an EU travel permit until 2024

UK passport holders can continue to travel to Schengen countries without any further obstacles until at least the end of 2023, as the European Union has once again delayed the entry into force of the travel permit ETIAS. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an online system launched in 2016. This will affect travelers from over 60 countries, including UK citizens, who will need to apply for a travel permit through the official ETIAS website before traveling in the EU. Although the requirement was to come into force on November 1, 2023, the EU postponed it to 2024.
