The launch of the printing of state-relevant forms directly in Kyrgyzstan was announced by the President of the Republic Sadyr Japarov. According to him, the state printing complex “Uchkun” will be engaged in the production of national documents and currency.“From now on, no more government papers should be ordered from private companies,” he said. – Forms for documents and banknotes, we have to produce ourselves. We provided the State Printing House “Uchkun” with the necessary modern equipment and machinery. It is already installed. From May this year, we will start printing national passports ourselves. Later, God forbid, we will also produce money. The leader of Kyrgyzstan explained the need for a state enterprise to issue forms for national documents directly on the territory of the country by the need to strengthen sovereignty, the desire to ensure an acceptable level of security and the desire to reduce budgetary costs.- Forms of national and technical passports, driving licenses were produced by private companies, – underlined Sadyr Japarov. – The state paid 15 billion soms a year for this, but not a single tyiyn came to the budget of foreign companies in the form of taxes. After the start of the production of forms in Uchkun, about three billion soms will be returned to the Treasury. However,Imported from overseasOver the years, Kyrgyzstan has ordered forms for national documents from companies located both in -Soviet space and abroad. This was due to the fact that in the republic itself there were no production facilities and equipment capable of printing paper with a high degree of security. The manufacturer was selected based on the results of the tender. Over the past three years, national passports for the Kyrgyz Republic have been printed in one of the EU countries.Banknotes for Kyrgyzstan, in turn, were ordered by the National Bank from two companies from abroad. Banknotes of 200, 500 and 1000 soms were printed in the UK, banknotes of 2, 50,100 and 5000 soms – in France. The National Bank explained this by the fact that it is not profitable to produce them in a country with less than 20-25 million inhabitants.“Special equipment is needed, the purchase of which will require large capital expenditures,” the National Bank stressed. – The equipment for the production of banknotes is unique in terms of technical characteristics and capabilities. This is what makes it possible to introduce security elements into banknotes. They may only be imitated, but may not be reproduced using commercial printing equipment or desktop publishing systems.
