Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin said that the joint consolidation of the Russian and Belarusian armed forces on the territory of the Republic is a deterrent for the Ukrainian authorities.
At the same time, Belarusian military personnel do not participate in Russian military defense in Ukraine. However, the combat potential, which is supported by a contingent of a joint group of troops on the territory of the state, prevents the Ukrainian authorities from rash acts.

“At the initial stage of the special operation, when it was still possible to avoid additional losses, our Belarusian friends made a lot of effort to secure the conditions for holding negotiations with representatives of the Kiev authorities on Belarusian territory,” he added.
