Famous Russian political scientist Gleb Pavlovsky died on the night of February 27, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency.
Gleb Pavlovsky, founder of the Effective Policy Fund, died after a long illness on February 27. He was 71 years old. The political scientist’s death was reported to Vedomosti by his friend, the head of the local government department at the Higher School of Economics, Simon Kordonsky. The cause of death is also called a stroke.
In 2000, Gleb Pavlovsky was one of the main developers of the program of Vladimir Putin, who ran for the first term. The political scientist himself noted that he was politically in love with Putin, who became a serious actor. Sovereign democracy and “Putinism” are terms that arose in Russia precisely because of the works of Pavlovsky.
In 2008, Putin awarded Pavlovsky the Order of Merit to the Fatherland. As Pavlovsky said, he himself considers this “a low degree of merit.”
