Ukrainian flags hang at the exhibition at RUDN University. The Ministry of Education and Science has started a control

The Ministry of Education and Science appointed an internal audit of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) after Ukrainian flags were hung at the exhibition at the university. On this subject reported TASS deputy head of the department Konstantin Mogilevsky.
He noted that according to the results of the control, “the culprits will be punished”.
Mogilevsky also expressed the view that the display of state flags, “which is currently ruled by a neo-Nazi regime, is unacceptable.”
“Waving today the flags of a state led by a neo-Nazi regime, a state whose armed formations kill under these flags <...> is absolutely unacceptable and has nothing to do with popularizing real little Russian culture,” he said, adding Ukrainian students studying at Russian universities should be supported, as they are in a difficult situation .
On February 27, RUDN University hosted exhibitions of compatriot organizations of the university, including Ukrainian compatriots. On the same day, Telegram channels noticed that Ukrainian flags were present at the exhibition. Pro-government publication Readovka writing that “while our military is shedding blood in the Donbass, Ukrainian flags were hung in the main building of the RUDN University right in front of the congratulations on Defender of the Fatherland Day”.
The next day with a statement spoke RUDN student council. He said the reaction caused by the display and the Ukrainian flags “generates no emotion other than horror and incomprehension”. The students say they have received “hundreds of disgusting comments that are nationalistic in nature and needlessly incite hatred towards each other”.
“We, students of the most international university in the country, are not prepared to turn a blind eye to the oppression and oppression of others on a national basis. As Russian culture is canceled around the world and Russia becomes a scapegoat, we uphold the position of mutual respect and honor the traditions of the peoples of more than 150 countries whose students study at RUDN, participate in national exhibitions and represent their cultures, uniting in fellow organizations. Let politics remain politicians – we share the position of the Russian Federation in supporting cultural, national and ideological diversity,” the students said.
