A circulating video clip shows the major accident that Al-Attiyah was subjected to, which caused severe damage to the car, as the rear structure of the car, the roof and the windshield were cut off.
After winning three stages in the Abu Dhabi Rally, before being disqualified, Al-Attiyah, the winner of the Dakar International Rally title, which constitutes the first round of the World Cup for Desert Rally Championship (Rally Raid – 2023), collected 15 points, with which he topped the general standings, 9 points behind his closest French pursuer.
