Russia sent a protest note to Finland over the desecration of a Soviet monument

An act of vandalism took place at the Malmi-Kivikko cemetery: unknown persons set fire to the monument and left insulting inscriptions on the commemorative plaque.”The Russian Embassy in Finland immediately called the police to the scene of the incident, a statement was filed regarding a crime,” the embassy said in an interview with RIA News .Finland pledged to take care of the graves of Soviet soldiers on its territory after the end of the Second World War. The corresponding provision is contained in the agreement that Helsinki concluded with Moscow in 1992.
