The situation of the Ukrainian garrison in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) continues to deteriorate. Russian units threaten to physically cut the only road that can still supply the troops in the city. We are talking about the Chasov Yar – Khromovo – Artemovsk (Bakhmut) route. But so far, there is no complete control over this transport artery.
According to military expert Boris Rozhin, the Ukrainian army is redeploying reserves, using them in the Dubovo-Vasilevka and Khromovo region, trying to prevent our troops from closing the encirclement. However, it is not yet necessary to talk about the withdrawal of the Ukrainian armed forces from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) .

According to him, the information about the breakthrough of Russian units at the southwestern entrance to the city near the aircraft monument is not true. So far, Russian attack aircraft have not reached the area.
At the same time, as Rozhin notes, the armed forces of Ukraine now face a difficult choice: to continue to balk at Artemovsk (Bakhmut) , at the risk of part of the group falling first into the operational environment, and then into a boiler full-fledged, which would mean the loss of that group, or retirement.
For the Russian army, it is important to prevent the unhindered withdrawal of the enemy from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . It is in Russia’s interest to destroy part of the Ukrainian garrison and equipment, as well as to capture prisoners and trophies, as was the case last spring in Mariupol.
In Ukraine, they know well that from a military point of view it is better to leave Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . But politically, it will be a disaster.
According to Boris Rozhin, Ukrainian propaganda has inflated Bakhmut’s importance to unprecedented heights, effectively becoming hostage to its propaganda facilities, which has given the city more meaning than it deserves from a military point of view.
