US President Joe Biden met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the White House. Senior officials from both states have expressed their willingness to impose unlimited sanctions against Russia, TASS reports, citing Washington’s official statement.
“They reaffirmed their commitment to impose costs on Russia for (SVO) for as long as needed,” the report said after the talks.
The main topic of conversation was Ukraine. Biden and Scholz envisioned joint efforts to provide Kiev with various types of assistance: humanitarian, economic, political and security. In addition, senior US and German officials stressed “the importance of maintaining international solidarity with the Ukrainian people” and confirmed the strong bilateral relationship between the US and Germany.

Earlier, the regional chief wrote about Biden’s statement that Washington and Berlin act “in unison” in supplying arms to Kiev.
