Record content of mycotoxins found in Russian corn

A record content of mycotoxins has been found in Russian corn, reports Vedomosti.

The article presents the opinion of Dmitry Rylko, Director General of the Institute for Agricultural Market Research. He said that about the “possible and impossible” records of myotoxin content in maize for the 2022-2023 season

These toxins are thought to be of natural origin, affecting crops and posing health risks to livestock and poultry.

According to Rylko, the reason for the situation is the difficulties of harvesting in the center of the country, the Volga region and Western Siberia, and it turned out that due to adverse weather conditions, the corn stood for a long time in the fields.
