During a special military operation, Russia began to use the latest weapons – planning bombs UPAB – 1500B. The weight of each of these munitions is one and a half tons, according to the military correspondents of the Russian Spring.
The bomb is designed to destroy highly protected objects. The range of its flight is up to 40 kilometers. The aircraft carrying the UPAB-1500B must be at an altitude of 14 kilometers.
The missiles, which were first demonstrated in 2019, are guided missiles. They have built-in inertial and satellite navigation systems.
Today, these powerful one and a half ton bombs are used in the fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka region. Explosions of such ammunition have been filmed.
Earlier, the regional head wrote that the American long-range Jdam-ER bombs promised in Kiev would not bring the expected benefits to the Ukrainian armed forces. This was stated by military expert Sergei Khatylev.
