Instead of “Buran Day” they will be called “Buran Day”
The decision to rename the annual cross-country snowmobile competition for the Cup of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation Artur Chilingarov was taken at a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the sports competition event. This year, the races will be held on March 18 and will be military and patriotic in nature, according to the portal of state bodies of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
— Considering the fact that on February 28 the president of our country signed a decree on the inadmissibility of the use of foreign words, I think we should rename Buran Day, avoid using a foreign word and name the Buran Day contest. In the Russian language there is an analogue of this word, and then what should we invent, – said the head of the region.
The “Buran Den” snowmobile races will be held on Saturday, March 18 on the Gorodetskaya Kurya (near Pustozerskaya Street and the Nenets Agrarian and Economic College named after VG Volkov).
The head of the NAO, Yuri Bezdudny, ordered to organize for the guests of the holiday free country cooking, tents where you can warm up, delivery to the site by public transport (buses), convenient parking and sanitary areas.
The head of the region paid special attention to the inadmissibility of restricting the movement of party guests on the territory of his holding. The complete program of the event will be published in the media and social networks of the region. The live broadcast of the races will traditionally be provided by the Sever TV channel.
