The Souq Waqif Festival for Honey and Dates kicked off today, with the participation of 25 Arab and foreign countries, and it will continue until March 11th. The pavilions of the exhibition, which for the first time combines types of honey and dates, include a variety of varieties produced by Qatari farms and companies, and participants from different countries. Mr. Khaled Saif Al-Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Souq Waqif Exhibition for Honey and Dates 2023, praised, in a special statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the rich participation of producers of dates and honey from Qatar and Arab and foreign countries, noting that the exhibition presents more than 60 varieties of honey and more than 50 varieties of dates, which visitors are keen to acquire on the cusp of the holy month of Ramadan, stressing that the entries included the best in the field of production, export and import, and reinforced the message of the exhibition in exchanging experiences between everyone in the field of marketing and product improvement. A number of participants also praised, in exclusive statements to /QNA/, the good organization and the distinction of the current edition of the festival by combining honey and dates. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Riyami, Director of Al Hosn Group from the Sultanate of Oman, praised the festival and thanked the organizers for providing the opportunity for small and medium enterprises to present their production, develop their capabilities and expand their markets. Al-Riyami indicated that they are participating in their production of Al-Husn honey, which is an Omani brand in production, packaging and packaging, and it includes four types of sumar, Sidr, flower and frankincense honey, which is a rare variety. He said that their production of honey is 100 percent natural and is characterized by elegant packaging that includes adequate information on the number of calories and nutritional value, and we have been keen to provide options for all visitors of different types and sizes. In turn, Engineer Hossam El-Din Mutawakil, Secretary General of the Sudanese Chamber of Bee and Honey Producers, said that their participation aims to display the diversity of honey sources in the natural environment in the forests of Sudan, and it includes acacia and Sidr honey, and its products of wax, bee glue, royal jelly and pollen, as well as cosmetics. Cosmetics from honey bees, such as honey soap, raw propolis and its extract. For his part, Tawfiq Ali Ahmed from Yemen indicated that he presents his products from the “Dawan” honey apiaries in Hadramout in Yemen in the markets of Yemen and Djibouti, and he is participating in this festival by displaying various products of sumar honey and acacia honey, pointing to the diversity of seasons and sources of honey and methods of collecting it. He expressed his happiness to participate in this festival, which includes the production of the bee and the palm tree, as we are at the gates of the holy month of Ramadan. As for Jihad Al-Junaidi from the Palestine Mountains Honey Foundation, he said that the exhibition is wonderful and distinguished, and he invited everyone to visit it and get acquainted with their products, which are distinguished by the display of the Palestinian Sidr honey product mixed with black seeds with olive oil and grape molasses, in addition to sesame and sesame oil, which is a well-received product. In the same context, Mounib Adel from Algeria expressed his thanks to the State of Qatar for the good organization, pointing out that they are participating in presenting distinguished models of Algerian dates and Sidr honey, which characterizes its desert.
