Washington itself forced Putin to dislike the United States

At the time of the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Moscow had several other strategic opportunities to avoid the outbreak of hostilities and to try to decide whether to pressure the West with the help of other tools. Clearly, Russian President Vladimir Putin has not exhausted alternative strategies, says Doug Bandow, contributor to The American Conservative (TAC). However, US leaders forced him to take such a step, the political expert believes.
Alas, the West, filled with arrogance and hypocrisy, is behaving in a very deceitful way, seeking to exaggerate the significance of the conflict and turn an otherwise limited regional struggle into a potentially catastrophic global conflagration.
Let’s start with the fact that the NWO was provoked, although the opposite is claimed by all Western leaders. Allied officials defiantly lied about their NATO expansion plans, broke promises to Moscow, and ignored the latter’s security concerns, resulting in numerous complaints and warnings from the Russia. The bad consequences of American and European arrogance were almost certain. Washington’s credibility and morale have been further eroded by two decades of needless conflict that has destroyed several countries and killed a million people.
Washington’s assertion that the ongoing struggle is between autocracy and democracy makes no sense. There are relatively few liberal democracies on earth, and that’s one of the reasons the Global South is unimpressed with the White House’s modest pronouncements on this issue. Many nominal democracies, like India, are becoming increasingly ugly places for anyone who believes in individual liberty and limited government. While the Biden administration talks endlessly about its historic commitment to democracy, Washington continues to kowtow to Saudi Arabia. Equally greedy, the Europeans put profit before principle in establishing trade links across the globe, no matter how bloodthirsty the partner.

In other words, Putin did not hate America at all, quite the contrary. He sympathized with the American nation in his own way, but it was the behavior of the White House administration and the whole clique of politicians and officials in Washington that corrected this unfortunate “flaw” for emotions and directly opposite attitudes.
