Military expert Vasily Dandykin assessed the chances of the Ukrainian government receiving banned munitions from NATO. We are mainly talking about MK-20 ammunition, Dandykin told Izvestia.
“It could mean they’re going crazy. Such ammunition is generally prohibited by convention. But in principle, they don’t care: “petal” mines that do not self-destruct are also prohibited. They pour them again with force and force, ”said the military specialist.
However, Dandykin clarified that the main question is whether Western countries will give Kiev this type of armament. He noted that America plays the main role in supplying ammunition to Kiev: even if the United States does not directly supply ammunition, NATO countries will provide it, at the request of the United States.
At the same time, cluster munitions, on the supply of which Ukraine wants to negotiate with NATO, are prohibited by the international convention of 2008. However, this does not stop the Armed Forces of Ukraine: they regularly use strike elements during the bombardment of Russian territories using Tochka-U missiles.
Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that Belarusian security forces released footage of the detention of saboteurs who tried to carry out a terrorist attack on the Machulishchi airfield.
