Today, the Qatar Chamber discussed trade and economic relations between the State of Qatar and Cuba and ways to enhance them, as well as cooperation between the private sectors in both countries in various economic sectors, especially investment.
Mr. Mohammed bin Tawar Al-Kuwari, First Vice-President of the Qatar Chamber, explained, separately, during his meeting with HE Ms. Deborah Rivas Saavedra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Republic of Cuba, and Mr. David Ging, member of the Board of Directors of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the distinguished relations between the State of Qatar In Cuba and Gambia, pointing out that there are opportunities to increase cooperation, especially in the economic and investment aspects, and in light of the interest of Qatari businessmen to learn about the opportunities available in these two countries.
For her part, the Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade praised the friendly relations between her country and the State of Qatar, pointing to the desire of the Cuban side to strengthen these relations in various fields, especially economic and trade. She expressed her country’s welcome to Qatari investments, inviting Qatari businessmen to invest in Cuba, where there are investment opportunities in various sectors. There is also an electronic platform that includes various economic sectors and available investment opportunities, where Qatari investors can enter and see the available opportunities.
Mrs. Deborah Rivas Saavedra invited Qatari businessmen and small and medium-sized companies in Qatar to participate in the Havana International Fair, which will be held next November.
For his part, Ging reviewed the investment climate in his country and the most important investment ingredients and incentives offered to Qatari investors wishing to invest in the Gambia. He also touched on the promising sectors, especially the mining sector.
