Smolensk rescuers warn of the danger of spring ice

The water bodies of the Smolensk region are under special control by employees of the State Inspectorate of Small Vessels of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia for the Smolensk region. Going out on the spring ice is fraught with pitfalls. In order to prevent accidents, lifeguards patrol the reservoirs in the area every day.

GIMS inspectors warn fishermen that the structure of the ice, under the influence of positive daytime temperatures, changes, it becomes fragile and weakened.

During the next raid on the reservoirs in the region, inspectors Sergei Fyodorovich Borisov and Vladimir Vasilievich Gusev reminded fishermen about the safety of fishermen. They recommend paying attention to the state of the ice before venturing there, having emergency equipment with you, informing relatives of your route and the time of return.

Parents should remember that children are not allowed on the ice!
