“When you break a woman, you break her future, her children, her mind, her attention, her love life, her health, her career”

“I gave him 6 years in prison. The heaviest sentence ever given to a sex offender in Iceland. I prosecuted him. I made a report. Writing an article about the impact of violence on women’s lives and health. I noticed how it affects trust, relationships. Birth process. Ownership of children. Mental health… When you rape a woman, you violate her future, her kids, her mind, her caring, her love life, her health, her career… I could go on forever,” says Þórunn Antonía Magnúsdóttir, musician and one of Jóhannes Tryggva Sveinbjörnsson’s victims in a Facebook post.
Anita believed that her attacker would be punished – “Ettu schít Jóhannes”

Jóhannes was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually assaulting Þóruna Antonia and three other women. One of them, Aníta Hauksdóttir, said in a message that she and other victims of Jóhannes were horrified that people were getting false information about her.
Like Anita, Þórunna Antónia’s writing is prompted by a news item on Vísi on Friday, which talks about Jóhannes’ fundraising page, but he intends to take his case to the European Court of Human Rights.
“Yes hello little lava?” I will book a massage for this man please he has been sued by over 35 women. He rapes 14-year-old girls and has abused his power and his trust and disgraced himself and an entire profession.”
“There’s news that he’s got a fundraiser because he’s innocent in prison, and the biggest media outlets in the country are giving free publicity to this fundraiser. Evokes both pain and truth of the women he raped. As well as all the victims.”
Þórunn Antonía says that neither she nor Jóhannes’ other victims have received compensation.
“I’m one of his countless victims. Who filed a complaint. Not to have fun with it or to get compensation, we didn’t get any. I filed a complaint for me. my daughter Your daughters. “Maybe we should ask him to give a free massage at Ingó’s concert and have Steingrim Njálsson babysit? No, just say it. None of this man’s victims have been compensated.” But let’s definitely advertise a fundraiser for him or just for all the authors they have such a hard time, poor outcasts like that.”
By judgment of the Reykjaness District Court of January 6, 2021, Jóhannes was sentenced to 5 years in prison and to pay his victims 1,800,000 ISK, 1,500,000 ISK, 1,000,000 ISK. and ISK 1,000,000 in damages from the dates specified.
