Barnaul residents say goodbye to 46-year-old retired police major who died at NVO

A resident of Barnaul, Sergei Ilyinsky, a retired police major, died during a special operation in Ukraine. He was a volunteer, tragedy happened on the battlefield.

He graduated from the Higher Command School of Military Engineering in Tyumen in 1998, served in the internal troops and in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was a veteran, went through trouble spots. Retired since 2018. After the start of the NMD in Ukraine, he did not hesitate to switch to the defense of the territories. He died in early December near Artemovsk (Bakhmut) .

Altapress writes that in addition to relatives, friends and former colleagues, veterans of internal organs came to say goodbye to him.

“Today we are witnessing the last journey of a true combat officer, who became a combat veteran at a young age when he served in the military. For loved ones it is terrible pain, especially for Olga Nikolaevna, a mother who recently buried her husband and eldest son, and now her beloved son. This is a tragedy for us,” said Mikhail Ulitin, retired Colonel of Internal Services and Chairman of the Regional Council of Internal Affairs and Internal Troops Veterans.

Ulitin noted that Ilyinsky himself chose this path. Defending the Fatherland is something that has always been in his blood, it is his vocation as a true officer.

Earlier it became known that a fighter of the Russian Armed Forces released from captivity said: Ukrainian militants were denied medical treatment.
