Kazakhstan to increase oil pumping through Caspian Pipeline Consortium

Kazakh Energy Minister Bulat Akchulakov told the CERAWeek international energy conference in Houston that the country plans to increase oil pumping through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) by more than 50 million tons to 60 million tons in 2023.

He also noted that this year, Astana’s target is to deliver around 60 million tons of crude oil globally through the CPC. Previously, more than 50 million tons of crude oil were transported through this pipeline.

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) is a major international project designed to transport oil from Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries to world markets through the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The consortium was established in 1992 and includes several major oil companies and government organizations from different countries, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Oman and others. The length of the pipeline is more than 1,700 kilometers. The project is an important part of Central Asia’s energy infrastructure and contributes significantly to the export of oil from this region to world markets.
