The press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports on an incidental crime committed by a resident of the center of the Kostroma Nerekhta district … moreover, in connection with his brother, who lives in the region of Ivanovo. He was extremely surprised when he received a subpoena for a procedure concerning a delinquent loan, which he did not accept.
The amount of the loan was not very large – only 13,000 rubles – but the resident of Ivanovo left in principle and wrote a statement to the police about the fraud. Ivanovo and Kostroma law enforcement agencies solved the case quite quickly, but the result stunned the petitioner even more. It turned out that his brother, who lives in Nerekhta, “hang up” a loan on him. The 36-year-old non-Rekhchanin didn’t work anywhere, but he loved money – and when he found a photocopy of his brother’s passport among the house papers, he decided to take the chance. Taking advantage of the outward resemblance to his brother, he went to the bank with this piece of paper and took out a loan that he was not going to repay.
Since the loan was small, the bank remembered about it only after 8 months – and took legal action against the unsuspecting “borrower”.
In general, the end of the story is unpleasant – the bank will not receive money, the brothers quarreled forever, and a criminal case was opened against one of them under the article “Fraud”.
