In Omsk, more than 20.5 thousand children line up for preschool institutions. Even taking into account the new guidelines for the fall of this year, more than 13,000 children will be left without a place.
There are nearly 12,000 children under the age of one and a half, nearly 8,000 children under the age of three and another 712 over the age of three on the waiting list. The situation is especially serious in the microdistricts of Amursky-2, Suvorovskaya Usadba, Stary Kirovsk, Zavertyaeva and Uspeshnaya streets.
“In 2023, there are no plans to open new kindergartens and additional groups for young children in existing kindergartens in Omsk,” reports Omsk-inform.

This year, it is planned to build four preschool institutions in the regional center, and eight next year. However, this will not completely eliminate the problem.

Earlier it was reported that the government of Omsk region is trying to launch a clever plan with a budget for the construction of five schools. The funds were pledged to the regional treasury last year. But the authorities then decided to request the same amount from the federal budget.
