Qatar: After resolving the dispute, Airbus renews orders to purchase 73 aircraft for Qatar Airways

European planemaker Airbus narrowed its plane delivery gap compared to last year after a sharp increase in February and closed a major legal dispute with Qatar Airways by returning billions of dollars in aircraft orders.

Airbus said in a monthly bulletin that it had renewed orders for 73 aircraft submitted by Qatar Airways after it canceled them during a dispute over damage to the paintwork of the A350 aircraft, which led to the suspension of flights – according to Reuters.

Sources in the sector had stated that Airbus informally targets about 140 deliveries in the first quarter, compared to 142 deliveries in the first quarter of last year.

Airbus and Qatar Airways reached a settlement of the dispute at the end of January, last year a trial in Britain in the aircraft sector.
