In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Mr. Hao Ling Chao said that the member states of the United Nations adopted the Doha Work Program a year ago, to help develop the least developed countries to achieve the goals of sustainable development, noting that the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Countries It is held one year after the adoption of the Doha Work Programme, with the aim of evaluating what has been achieved, in addition to examining the main challenges and problems facing the least developed countries, identifying the best ways and practices to move forward and mobilizing international support for them. He added that the conference represents another occasion through which it is possible to see the challenges facing the least developed countries and standing as an obstacle to achieving their aspirations and the aspirations and goals of their people, ruling out that the least developed countries would achieve their ambitions and aspirations on their own, as they need global solidarity, so that this conference serves as a means of renewing the international support provided to help least developed countries. He noted that the role played by the State of Qatar to assist and support the least developed countries was very important, as it played a major and inspiring role for the international community to unite and consider the results achieved, as well as the existing challenges, pointing to the many projects that have been launched to assist the least developed countries, most notably the program "Climate promise" Which helps 120 countries around the world to enhance their national contributions and support for the least developed countries. On the United Nations Development Programme, Mr. Hau Ling Chau indicated that the United Nations Development Program works in 170 countries and regions around the world, including all the least developed countries, stressing that the program’s role lies in supporting countries to achieve their goals of human and sustainable development.
