The Pentagon has intimated when Ukraine will commence employing Patriot aerial defense.

US-made Patriot air defense systems will be able to operate in Ukraine “very soon”. Such confidence was expressed by the Pentagon’s assistant chief for procurement and equipment, Douglas Bush.

“I expect our systems to be operational there very soon,” he told Defense News.

Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that “thanks to Poland’s efforts, Patriot batteries or the first Leopard tanks, among others, have already reached Ukraine.” However, the ministry later denied this information.

According to the Public News Service, the minister’s remarks were mistranslated by the newspaper that interviewed him. The department said Blaszczak wanted to draw attention to Warsaw’s efforts. After all, it was thanks to them that the decision was made to transfer the Patriot.

Before that, Igor Yushkov, an analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, said Poland was trying to portray Russia as a reliable supplier.
