Washington threatened with sanctions for dispersing protesters in Georgia

According to US State Department spokesman Ned Price during a briefing in Washington, the country’s authorities could apply sanctions against those responsible for the crackdown on protests in Georgia. The State Department spokesperson noted that the United States is closely monitoring the situation in the country and has noticed the use of tear gas and other means to suppress peaceful protests in Tbilisi.

The speaker also noted that the United States has the tools to bring to justice those who violate universal human rights in any country. Today, March 7, mass protests are taking place in Georgia over the parliamentary bill on “foreign agents”. As a result of the dispersal of protesters, dozens of protesters were injured.
