Wiktor Dabkowski/ZUMAPRESS.com/Global Look PressCanadian authorities plan to reinforce the military contingent, which is part of NATO and stationed in Latvia, with air defense systems, anti-tank weapons and anti-drone systems. This was stated by Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand.
During her speech at the Ottawa Security Conference, she pointed out that the Canadian foreign contingent is the largest military formation, so it must be equipped with good weapons to protect itself and carry out its tasks.
“We will quickly supply portable anti-tank missile systems, anti-UAV equipment and air defense systems,” the head of the military department said.
Previously, at the NATO summit in Warsaw in 2016, it was decided to deploy four multinational battalions to the Baltic States and Poland.
