It is worth recalling that earlier the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” was passed in the first reading in the Georgian Parliament. According to her, there are plans to create a list of organizations, including the media, which receive more than 20% funding from abroad.

On the morning of March 7, a gathering of thousands of people took place in front of the parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue, which in the evening turned into clashes with special forces. Police used tear gas and water cannons, and Molotov cocktails were reported by protesters.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili backed protesters against the foreign agents law in Tbilisi, saying she would veto the law if passed.
