Georgia’s president called for an end to violence against protesters

Bernd von JutrczenkaGeorgian President Salome Zurabishvili backed the protesters and called on the authorities to prove their loyalty to the people. She made the announcement on CNN.

During her speech, the head of state said that the distance between Georgians and the authorities is constantly growing. According to her, the government had the last chance to really show its loyalty to the compatriots.

“It’s their last chance to show that being pro-European is not an empty word, but their goal. That they refrain from any use of force,” the president said.

Earlier it was reported that protesters surrounded the parliament building in Tbilisi. However, law enforcement officers, using special equipment, dispersed the protesters.
